Aigul Ishangaliyeva, a Global Teacher Prize 2023 Top 50 finalist, has been awarded the prestigious Ibrai Altynsarin Medal by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The medal is a distinguished departmental award that recognises outstanding contributions and dedication to advancing education and science across the country.
Named after the renowned Kazakh educator and reformer Ybyrai Altynsarin, the award honours individuals who embody his legacy of educational innovation and service. Altynsarin was a pioneering teacher, writer, folklorist and ethnographer who authored some of the first Kazakh textbooks and played a vital role in establishing secular education for the Kazakh people.
Ishangaliyeva’s recognition reflects her continued commitment to excellence in education and her impact on students and the wider teaching community. As a Global Teacher Prize Ambassador, she continues to champion the power of education to transform lives and inspire the next generation of learners.
