Amy Shields is the Director of Operations & Production for Canada Basketball, the National Sports Organization for Basketball in Canada based in Toronto, Ontario.
Amy and her team oversee the planning, logistics, and hosting of FIBA sanctioned events across Canada while also leading operations and hosting of Canada Basketball properties including GLOBL JAM, the organization's marquee summer event which hosts international U23 five-on-five teams as well as the National 3x3 Championships at GLOBL JAM Festival.
Prior to taking on her current role, Amy worked as the Production Manager with Entertainment Tonight Canada and at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment as an Associate Producer in live game broadcasts and as a producer and production manager within the creative services department while also successfully leading MLSE's production intern program.
Amy served as a member of Humber College's Journalism Program Advisory Committee from 2019-2022. Here, she provided insight into current industry standards, reviewed feedback on program challenges or successes, as well as discussed potential program changes with fellow committee members.
Amy grew up in Southern Ontario, Canada where her love of sports developed from an early age playing baseball and basketball until her late teens when her love of skateboards flourished and Amy was part of a growing community of female skateboarders. Her spare time is now spent passing on her love of sports and adventure to her two young daughters.
