Sabri Saidam

Former minister of education and higher education (2015- 2019). Former minister of telecom and IT (2005- 2006); Former advisor to the Palestinian president on Telecom, IT and Technical Education (2008- 2013).

Pioneered telecom market liberalization in Palestine which led to the introduction of a new mobile operator in 2006. 

Introduced several initiatives chief amongst them are: e-gov, All4Palestine (a database for Palestinian Diaspora), and the award winning Palestine Digital Library. A co-founder of the Internet Society - Palestine Chapter. Also introduced the Internet country registration .PS. 

Led the reform of the entire education sector inclusive of introducing new: school curriculum, Palestine high school system, pre-schooling integration scheme, remote communities educational inclusion, technical and vocational education as part of mandatory daily teaching. Co-produced several radio shows mainly focusing on science, technology, and general knowledge. Weekly writes in several Arab and local media platforms.

A visiting academic at the London School of Economics (LSE). Has a  PhD in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College and BSc in Applied Physics and Electronics from Royal Holloway College, University of London. Trained on Human Development at Oxford University. A social entrepreneur with a prime focus on innovation in science and technology. Founder of many formal and Informal initiatives. A member of the Central Committe of the ruling party.
