Until October 2011, Ms. Bakr was the head of investment banking for Credit Suisse in Saudi Arabia, with a mandate that covers institutional clients across the Kingdom. She joined Credit Suisse in 2007.
Ms. Bakr started her career in 1997 with Samba Financial Group’s Structured Finance where she developed Saudi Arabia’s first commercial paper programme for local corporations; and later joined the National Commercial Bank where she established/headed the Equity Advisory business and initiated/managed transactions including IPOs for SADAFCO, Sipchem and Unitrans.
She also headed Equity Capital Markets at Morgan Stanley Saudi Arabia. Ms. Bakr holds a BSc, Accounting, College of Administrative Sciences, King Saud University, Riyadh (1997) and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University in the city of New York (2004). She is recognised as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (2011).
