Johan Andersson

Johan is CEO & Partner of the family owned company Mellby Gård; a conglomerate consisting of approximately twenty controlling investments predominantly within education, industry, retail & brands and services. Ever since the company was founded thirty years ago, Mellby Gård has remained a long term, active investor with a clear buy-and-hold strategy. 

Before joining the family business, Johan used to work for the Swedish private equity firm EQT Partners and subsequently with Smarteyes; a Mellby Gård owned optician retailer with presence in Sweden, Denmark and Germany.  

Johan holds a M.Sc from Chalmers University of Technology and a MBA from INSEAD. Beside numerous board positions within the group, such as being board member of Northern Europe’s largest education provider AcadeMedia, Johan is also on the board of The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise as well as board member & co-founder of the Brilliant Minds Foundation.
