Raimundo Larraín Hurtado

Former Head of the Education Division, Ministry of Education, Chile

From 2019 to 2022, Raimundo Larraín was head of the education division of the Ministry of Education in Chile. Additionally, Larraín is a co-founder and executive director of Impulso Docente in Chile. Larraín has worked as a professor of biology at the Américo Vespucio de Peñalolén Educational Center and as director of teaching leadership at Teach For All.

Larraín is a biochemistry graduate from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and holds a master’s degree in international educational development from the Teachers College of Columbia University.

He is currently a professor at Universidad de los Andes and specialises in strategic planning in education, school improvement, and education professional development.
