Isolda Calsina

Minister of Strategic Planning and Modernization of Jujuy, Argentina

Isolda currently works on a social change driven by the educational transformation and strategic planning of public policies for comprehensive human development.

As a social entrepreneur and lawyer, she worked in citizen education promoting dialogue and the search for consensus in state policies to strengthen democracy and sustainable development. She was Minister of Education for the province of Jujuy for 6 years, she developed a comprehensive educational policy of transformation and innovation aimed at the quality of learning. She created and led the implementation of a program to improve educational access and quality aimed at transforming and innovating state schools through an unprecedented investment of US$307 million in building and technological infrastructure, connectivity, teacher training, and modernization of educational management.

Isolda graduated as a lawyer with honors, was president of the Jujuy Bar Association and vice president of the Argentine Federation of Bar Associations; she is an active member of various civil society organizations in Jujuy and Argentina; she founded a political party through which she has promoted public policies that favour education for the exercise of freedom and responsible democracy.
