Deana Jezeršek

Deana Jezeršek is a linguist who has found her mission in education. She is the co-founder of LanguageSitter, a language agency that approaches the teaching and learning of foreign languages in a different, more natural way. By developing their own teaching method, based on fully customizing the program to the individual, she and her team prove that anyone can learn a foreign language if presented in the right way. With her team, she sends a message to the world that it's not about saying things correctly, it's about being understood. 

She is the initiator of the project I am a teacher! (Učitelj sem! Učiteljica sem!), which is run by AmCham Slovenia. The project recognizes and highlights excellent teachers and their good practices in the Slovenian school environment in order to restore the reputation and respect of the teaching profession. As a mother of two young daughters, she wants a good teacher not to be a coincidence, but to become the norm. With the team, she believes and proves that there are many good teachers in Slovenia and beyond who can dictate a higher quality of education and have a significant positive impact on the future of our society. Since 2020, the project has evolved to National Teacher Prize Slovenia.
