América Avalos focuses on supporting business leaders and companies to define and implement impactful philanthropy through her role as the National Manager for Education and Family Philanthropy in the Coppel Foundation. Managing over 95 social, cultural and development projects across a broad spectrum, her main focus lies with education issues in Mexico and her hometown of Culiacan, Sinaloa: improving early child development, education standards and training the next generation of leaders. She has created alliances and hubs of discussion across the business communities, political agents, and Nonprofit institutions over the last 12 years, in order to implement systemic changes with initiatives, such as Comunidad Araucaria, literacy programs for primary school students and Líderes Coppel. As a proud alumnus of Georgetown University´s McCourt School for Public Policy, she also has been active in creating a community of best practices and shared experiences between the educational and policy leaders from LATAM. However, her greatest joy comes from playing with her 2 year old son and husband.
