One of our biggest lessons has been that limited resources do not have to limit teacher development.
As a resource-constrained school, we cannot always afford expensive professional training for our teachers. Instead of allowing this to become a weakness, we turned it into an opportunity for learning and innovation.
We use reliable online educational resources and AI-supported tools to research ideas, prepare relevant notes and develop practical training materials for our teachers. We then share and discuss these resources through school-based teacher learning and professional development.
This approach has helped our teachers build confidence in connecting everyday lessons with the SDGs, sustainability and real-life issues. They are learning to design simple activities, inquiry questions, discussions, experiments and role-plays that make global goals meaningful for students.
The important lesson for us is simple: professional learning does not always require expensive programmes. With teacher commitment, digital resources, responsible use of AI and collaborative learning, a school can create its own culture of continuous professional development.
Our teachers are not waiting for resources to arrive. They are learning, adapting and creating resources for their own context—and then helping students turn that learning into action.
