This handbook is designed as a resource for teachers in their lesson preparation, aiming to inspire both students and educators to explore given topics in various ways. As such, it follows a problem-based and developmental approach to philosophy: the goal is not to “learn” the material but to understand what it means to philosophize. To reflect, to go beyond what is presented, beyond the given, beyond the immediately existing and apparent.
The handbook consists of 20 concepts. The authors have approached the presentation of these concepts in their own unique ways, covering themes such as good and evil, art, justice, freedom, happiness, tolerance, violence, truth and lies, life, time and space, friendship, courage, God, nature and humanity, wisdom and knowledge, the world, equality and diversity, love, and silence.
The handbook provides lesson scenarios in an imagined classroom, where readers, along with the authors and children, engage in philosophizing.
It can be downloaded for free at the Repository of The Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory website: https://rifdt.ifdt.bg.ac.rs/handle/123456789/4266
