A Success Story from Central Model School Khanewal, Pakistan
In a resource-constrained community in Khanewal, Pakistan, a classroom projector is becoming more than a piece of technology. It is a window to the world.
Recently, our young learners at Central Model School Khanewal participated in British Council activities, including a webinar connected with the #Take10toRead global reading initiative, shared by the National Literacy Trust and the British Council.
Gathered together in their classroom, our students watched the programme through a projector and engaged in a shared reading experience that connected their local learning environment with a wider international educational initiative. 📖💻
🌍 Turning Limited Resources into Global Opportunities
For our school, this experience represented more than a reading activity. It demonstrated how even simple digital tools can help broaden children's horizons and bring international learning opportunities closer to communities with limited educational resources.
We believe that a child's circumstances should never determine the size of their dreams.
Through British Council activities, digital learning, international school connections, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), student-led activities and community engagement, we are working to create opportunities for our learners to develop curiosity, confidence, communication skills and a growing sense of global citizenship.
Our approach is built on four important connections:
🌍 Local to Global: Connecting classroom learning with international educational initiatives.
💡 Curiosity to Knowledge: Encouraging children to explore ideas beyond their textbooks and immediate surroundings.
🤝 Learning to Collaboration: Building a culture of sharing, respect and engagement with the wider learning community.
🌱 Education to Action: Helping students understand how learning can contribute to a more peaceful, inclusive and sustainable world.
💡 Why This Matters
For schools working with limited resources, access to international learning experiences can be especially meaningful. British Council activities and opportunities like #Take10toRead remind us that global education does not always require expensive infrastructure. It begins with curiosity, access, committed educators and a willingness to open new doors for children.
At Central Model School Khanewal, we are taking gradual but purposeful steps towards making learning more inclusive, connected and globally relevant.
Our vision is simple: every child, regardless of background or circumstances, deserves the opportunity to learn, imagine, participate and contribute to a better future.
From Khanewal to the world — one young learner, one reading experience and one opportunity at a time. 🌍📚
