Unpacking PISA 2025: What the Results Mean for Teachers and Learners
What do the latest PISA results tell us about where education is headed, and what should we do next? Last week, the Varkey Foundation and Argentinos por la Educación brought together education leaders from across the region to explore exactly that.
From Andreas Schleicher's opening findings on teachers in disadvantaged schools, resource gaps, and digital distraction, to the encouraging evidence that students thrive when they feel valued by their teachers, the conversation offered both hard truths and reasons for hope. Speakers from Paraguay's Ministry of Education, UNESCO, CAF, UNICEF, and several NGOs added their perspectives, and Jaime Saavedra of the World Bank closed with a call to focus on the interventions that are working and to keep investing in the teachers who make sure every child learns.
