Beyond the syllabus: Preparing minds for an AI -DRIVEN world.
I am a Biology teacher, and I teach Environmental Education and Zoology. My syllabus is about cells, life and the human body. But I know my class of 12 kids are about to enter a world that is not about biology alone- it is an AI -Driven World.
I don't want them to go unprepared, so I decided to do something beyond my duty. I wanted to give them training on AI Ethics, future trends, Cyber safety and n8n automation skills - no textbook teaches them, but life will demand.
There was one problem - I had no funds, but I had faith in the staff I work with at school. I went to my school head, teacher to teacher, well-wishers to well wishers in my school and community members. I asked, requested and collected free-will donations.
Some gave 100 Rupees, some gave blessings, and some gave in thousands. Every rupee became hope. And with that hope, I organised the training for my students. That day I was not teaching Biology; I was teaching survival, future and responsibility.
Because a teacher's job is not just to finish the syllabus.
A teacher's job is to prepare the mind for tomorrow.
And tomorrow is already here!
