In a major step toward transforming its education system, Saudi Arabia has announced the launch of its first-ever mandatory pre-service teacher preparation program. The initiative, unveiled in Dubai, is aimed at ensuring that all new teachers entering both public and private schools are thoroughly equipped with the skills and knowledge needed for modern classrooms.

This landmark policy marks a significant shift in the Kingdom’s approach to educator development, aligning with global best practices and supporting the country’s Vision 2030 goal of enhancing educational quality and competitiveness.

The new program is designed to provide aspiring teachers with comprehensive training before they begin their careers. It focuses on four key areas reports Gulf News:

Pedagogical Development: Building core teaching skills, including classroom management and student engagement using modern instructional methods.

Technological Competency: Training educators to effectively integrate digital tools and technology into everyday teaching.

Assessment and Measurement: Equipping teachers with tools to conduct contemporary assessments and use data to drive student performance.

Practical Training: Providing hands-on experience in real classrooms under the supervision of educational professionals.
