Gastón Diaz

From a childhood curiosity with truck tires to co-authoring legislation and launching a start-up, Gastón has charted an extraordinary journey of resilience, creativity, and impact in Argentina and beyond. A high-achieving student from Buenos Aires, he is the founder of Cresify, a marketing tool that helps companies detect buying signals based on potential customers’ behaviour. This innovation has earned recognition from Microsoft for Startups and reached 150,000+ views on LinkedIn. But Gastón’s impact extends far beyond tech.

At just 14, he co-wrote a groundbreaking financial and digital literacy education law that now reaches over 6 million students in 70+ cities across Argentina. The law, originally sparked by his frustration with outdated school curricula, became a national model for youth-driven civic change. He was later honored with the “Best Project of the Year” by the Lanús City Council.

Academically, he was champion in geometry at the mathematical olympiad and participated in the prestigious selection process for the international team, and was chosen as one of two delegates to represent Argentina at the prestigious US National Youth Science Camp (NYSCamp). His commitment to global cooperation also led him to become a quarter-finalist in the MIT Solve Financial Inclusion Challenge, where he collaborated with university students around the world on a tool to increase transparency in public spending and fight corruption.

As a grassroots educator, Gastón teaches maths and computer skills to underserved children through Grupo El Ombú, a Buenos Aires NGO, where he also helps provide more than 5,000 breakfasts annually. At Estudiantes Organizados – Argentina’s largest student-run education NGO – he built internal systems from scratch to help manage the organisation.

His achievements reflect not just personal excellence, but a passion for scalable, inclusive, and deeply human solutions. Whether through writing code, organising hackathons with Mars Society Argentina, or simply serving breakfast before class, he exemplifies how consistent action – paired with empathy and ingenuity – can create transformative change.

He plans to use the Global Student Prize to expand educational and nutrition programmes by improving access to technology, strengthening volunteer capacity, and providing more nutritious meals to low-income children.
