Executive Vice President, CJ CheilJedang 

Dr. Heekyung (Jo) Min is the Executive Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at CJ Cheiljedang in Korea. Her role is to create a sustainable future for CJ Group by driving and coordinating CSR and ESG efforts and managing two foundations. CJ Welfare Foundation supports underprivileged youth in Korea through teaching and providing experiences in the field of culture. The CJ Cultural Foundation supports young creators in the areas of film, music, and theater.

Prior to her role at CJ, she accrued extensive experience in finance, HR, and cross-cultural management consulting in New York, Tokyo, London, and Seoul in both private and government sectors. She has been passionate about inequities especially in education both in Korea and globally. In addition to the Youth Culture Club programs by CJ Welfare Foundation in Korea, she has been running the CJ – UNESCO Girls’ Education aimed at empowering young girls in developing countries by providing access to quality education.

She was recognized by the Korean Minister of the Interior for her contributions to rural development in Vietnam, and the project was featured in Fortune magazine’s 2016 “Change the World” list. She is also the recipient of UNESCO’s Certificate of Appreciation for promoting girls’ education globally, as well as a commendation from the Korean Minister of Gender Equality and Family for her efforts to promote gender equality in the workplace. In 2015, She was selected as one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Korean Business. She has been invited to speak at many global forums organized by the UN, ADB, ASEAN, G20, World Bank, and World Economic Forum.

She holds a B.A. from Seoul National University, an MBA from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. from aSSIST Seoul Business School. She currently serves as a board member of the CJ Welfare Foundation in Korea, an advisory board member of the Asia New Zealand Foundation, an independent board member of Avolta, a Swiss publicly-listed company, and is an alumnus of the Bellagio Center at The Rockefeller Foundation.
