I am a teacher for around 17 years. I don't know if in other countries, being a teacher, especially an ICT teacher, is a challenge. At a young age, as soon as I started working as a teacher, I remember that I did not only the role of a teacher with my students, but at the same time, I supported my colleagues, who at that time had difficulty using technologies. I remember that I often had to fix computers after they had problems being a technician too.
I remember that I try to fix some problems that a laboratory had after about 5 -6 hours a day after around 150-180 students were in an ICT Class a day, or some lack of technology among my colleagues or students.
I can say that during this time, I have another face of challenge. At this time, our school is being renovated, and we are teaching in a host school, without computers. this was another challenge. I need to work with my student's different tools and programs as Word, Excel, but also with coding, design, projects, etc.
I secured the internet on my cell phone, secured a computer, and a video projector for special lessons. I shared the internet with my students, providing them with the opportunity to work, collaborate, share, and create their products between their smartphone devices.
I believe that all educators are heroes, but just think for a while an ICT teacher...
An ICT teacher is:
A TEACHER, A TECHNICIAN, A HARD WORKER, AN AVANGARD, "A HUMAN MIND COMPUTER", A FRIEND, A FUTURE...
I try to share just a short story of my life as an educator.
After these, I always say to my students: "There is no challenge that cannot be overcome... Have faith in yourself, because I have a lot of faith in you!"
