Comunidad Araucaria is a pioneering initiative that brings together LATAM Ministers and Secretaries of Education to boost educational transformation by building a community. The first meeting took place in Washington DC on the 25 - 27 January 2023 and brought together 23 provincial and state officials from Uruguay, Ecuador, Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico. The agenda included an Executive Program in leadership and innovation in public policy at Georgetown University, visits to leading educational institutions and the opportunity to strengthen ties with diverse global educational leaders and organisations.
The community has been actively growing since the Comunidad Araucaria launch earlier this year.
In January 2024, the community will gather for their second annual meeting in Madrid, Spain, where 30 ministers and secretaries of Education will share a new Executive Program at the Complutense University and a full agenda with political and educative speakers.
