Governor Claudio Poggi welcomed speakers at Government House on the eve of the Congress, opened and closed the event, and led visits to local schools.
Some 5,500 teachers, school leaders and specialists gathered to examine how artificial intelligence is reshaping teaching, school leadership and the purpose of education itself. The program featured 30 speakers from 10 countries, including Jaime Saavedra (World Bank), Punya Mishra (Brookings Institution), Global Teacher Prize 2023 winner Sister Zeph, Global Student Prize 2024 winner Ángela Olazarán, Débora Garófalo, Kip Glazer and Mariano Narodowski, alongside Agustín Porres and the Varkey Foundation team.
Keynotes were paired with hands-on formats, including a Maker Lab, an escape room and a student hackathon.
Participants rated the Congress highly: 97.4% described the experience as good or very good, and 75.8% of more than 1,500 session ratings were “very good.” Respondents averaged 9.6 out of 10 when asked how likely they were to attend future editions.
