This September, Argentina's education month, the Varkey Foundation once again teamed up with digital outlet MDZ to launch the fourth edition of the #GraciasDocentes (Thank You, Teachers) campaign, putting the faces of five outstanding teachers on billboards across the country, from downtown Buenos Aires to Córdoba, Rosario and the Atlantic coast.
Chosen by a Varkey Foundation committee from more than 200 public nominations submitted by students, colleagues and family members, this year's honourees are:
Now reaching more than 20 million people each year, the campaign aims to raise public recognition for teachers and their transformative, often invisible, daily work.
