Multimanitas - 2025 Educational Innovation Award

Teacher José Jiménez and IES Azuer in Manzanares have been honoured with the 6th "Paco Diestro" Educational Innovation Award, presented by the independent union ANPE Ciudad Real to highlight the best pedagogical initiatives developed in the province's schools.

The winning project, "Multimanitas," took top honours in the Secondary, Intermediate, and Vocational Training category. Spearheaded by José Jiménez alongside the rest of the IES Azuer teaching staff, this initiative champions creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning as tools for classroom innovation.

The award was presented during the 6th "Paco Diestro" Educational Innovation Award Gala, held on October 4 in Ciudad Real—on the eve of World Teachers' Day. Organised by ANPE, the event aims to recognise the work, effort, and dedication of teachers, while promoting educational experiences that transform teaching through daily practice.

In the Early Childhood, Primary, and Special Education category, the award went to the "Metanoia Infantil" project—an emotional education program based on yoga and mindfulness developed by teacher Susana Martín at CEIP Rodríguez Marín in Argamasilla de Calatrava.

The call for entries, open between June 18 and September 19, 2025, attracted proposals from numerous schools across the province, demonstrating a strong commitment to educational innovation. Each winning school will receive 500 euros' worth of educational materials and a commemorative plaque.

During the ceremony, representatives from both the national ANPE organisation and ANPE Ciudad Real took the opportunity to pay tribute to all teachers and call for a reduction in administrative and bureaucratic burdens, allowing more time to be dedicated to the direct care and instruction of students.
