Every Page, A Culture: Connecting Young Learners Through Stories
As the founder of the Every Page, A Culture eTwinning project, I had the privilege of bringing together students and teachers from Türkiye, Romania, and Albania to explore cultural diversity through storytelling, creativity, and digital collaboration.
The project was designed to help young learners discover different cultures while developing empathy, communication, creativity, and global citizenship. Throughout the project, students wrote stories, designed posters and logos, created digital materials, participated in collaborative online activities, and met their international friends during live online meetings. These experiences allowed them to learn directly from one another and recognize that, despite different languages and traditions, they share many common values.
Technology played an important role in our learning journey. Through safe and meaningful use of digital tools, students communicated with their peers, presented their work, and improved their digital literacy skills. Every activity encouraged active participation, teamwork, and respect for cultural diversity.
One of the most memorable moments was watching students proudly introduce their own culture while listening with curiosity to the traditions, festivals, games, school life, and daily experiences of children from other countries. These exchanges helped them develop confidence, respect, and intercultural understanding at an early age.
As a classroom teacher, I believe education should not be limited by classroom walls. International collaboration provides authentic learning experiences that inspire children to become open-minded, responsible, and compassionate global citizens.
This project has strengthened not only my students' academic and social skills but also my own professional development. It reminded me that meaningful education is built through collaboration, creativity, and the courage to connect people across borders.
I am grateful to all partner teachers, students, and families who contributed to this journey. Together, we proved that every story has the power to build a bridge between cultures.
