Visiting EdCity: A Vision for Inclusive Community Development
One of the highlights of the visit was a tour of EdCity in White City, west London — an ambitious £150 million development designed to transform opportunities for local families and young people.
The not-for-profit partnership between national education charity Ark and Hammersmith & Fulham Council brings together education, housing, and community services in a single integrated hub. The development includes Ark White City Primary Academy, Harmony Nursery, the Adult Community Education Centre, and a new OnSide youth zone, alongside affordable homes, office space, and wider community facilities.
Rouble was particularly inspired by EdCity’s mission to invest in education and social mobility within a historically disadvantaged area. The project demonstrated how collaboration between charities, local government, and communities can create long-term positive change for future generations.
Celebrating 50 Years of The King’s Trust at Buckingham Palace
Rouble also attended a special garden party hosted by His Majesty King Charles III at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The King’s Trust.
Formerly known as The Prince’s Trust, the charity has spent five decades supporting disadvantaged young people across the UK by helping them access education, employment, and training opportunities.
The event brought together supporters, changemakers, and young people whose lives have been impacted by the organisation’s work, marking an important milestone in the charity’s history and its continued commitment to empowering the next generation.
Sharing Global Perspectives at the Global Schools Forum Roundtable
During her time in London, Rouble also participated in a roundtable discussion hosted by the Global Schools Forum Schools Community UK.
Global Schools Forum supports non-state education organisations across low- and middle-income countries, helping them innovate, deepen their impact, and scale their work to reach more children and communities.
At the discussion, Rouble shared insights into her work within slum communities in India, discussing the transformative power of art and education in creating opportunity and restoring dignity. She also spoke about her ambition to expand investment in art centres within disadvantaged communities, helping provide safe and creative spaces for young people to learn, express themselves, and thrive.
A Shared Commitment to Opportunity and Impact
The visit highlighted the shared values connecting organisations and educators around the world: the belief that education, creativity, and community investment can transform lives.
From innovative education hubs in London to grassroots art initiatives in underserved communities, Rouble Nagi’s visit reinforced the importance of collaboration and global exchange in building a more equitable future for young people everywhere.
