For the third consecutive year, during Argentina's Education Month in September, five outstanding teachers are being honoured in a national public campaign recognising their dedication and impact.
The celebrated Teachers are:
Jackelina Hernandez, Jonatan Fernandez, Julieta Moreno, Julieta Ursagaste and Patricia Amaya
Every day, over 12 million Argentine students attend schools across cities and remote communities, guided by teachers who skillfully nurture each child’s potential, quietly transforming lives and strengthening communities. The Varkey Foundation, together with digital newspaper MDZ and other partners, leads this campaign to highlight real stories and faces of remarkable educators.
Following a public nomination process, more than 200 people submitted the names of teachers who made a lasting impression on their lives. A committee selected five finalists, whose portraits are displayed across thousands of public spaces throughout September. Each year, the initiative reaches over 20 million people, aiming to ensure society recognises and celebrates the invaluable work of great teachers. Agustín Porres, Regional Director of Fundación Varkey, emphasises:
“We need to bring exceptional teachers into everyday conversation. To transform society, we must start with education—listen to teachers, support their work, and recognise their contribution.”
