The Varkey Foundation Argentina is expanding its teacher training initiatives across Latin America, launching its 2025 Leadership and Educational Innovation Program (PLIE) for the first time in Chaco province. This initiative will support 400 teachers, principals, and supervisors across 200 secondary schools, focusing on strengthening leadership, fostering collaboration, and enhancing reflective teaching practices.
The program aims to develop virtuous and competent leadership and equip educators with the tools to adapt to evolving educational needs. Sofía Naidenoff, Chaco’s Minister of Education, emphasised the program’s collaborative approach during a virtual launch event.
“We want to learn from what is working, bring teachers closer together, and, through them, foster a leadership approach in schools that meets current needs. We will do this alongside the entire secondary education level and leadership teams because we want the positive impact to multiply.”
The PLIE program will provide structured training sessions, mentorship opportunities, and resources designed to empower educational leaders to create lasting change in their communities. By strengthening school leadership, the initiative aims to improve student outcomes and encourage a culture of continuous professional growth.
The Varkey Foundation continues its mission of transforming education worldwide, ensuring that teachers and school leaders have the skills and support needed to build a brighter future for students in Latin America.
