During September, all across Argentina, signs with the faces of 5 teachers were on the country's streets. A national campaign, led by the Varkey Foundation and the digital newspaper MDZ, sought to raise awareness of the importance of the teaching profession with real stories. After opening a process where the community could "nominate" a great teacher, which received more than 400 nominees from all over the country, a committee chose five finalists whose faces became part of thousands of public spaces in September, during the month of education. The five finalists were Martin Vera from Avellaneda Buenos Aires, Marianela Colantuono from Belgrano CABA, Marina Zamora near Rama Caída Mendoza, Cecilia Sas from Villa Cañas, province of Santa Fe and Miguel Ángel Quevedo from Córdoba. The aim of the initiative is for society to recognise the work of teachers and support them in their essential mission.
