In our multicultural Mauritian context, our national flag represents freedom, unity, and our island's natural and cultural identity. Our school educates young girls from diverse cultural backgrounds, a coexistence that enriches global perspectives on community unity, cultural diversity, and shared environmental stewardship. Supporting SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), this concept demonstrates that diverse varieties of flowers, irrespective of their differences, can grow side by side. By engaging our learners in horticulture, students learn that diversity does not divide us but it strengthens us. Just as every flower adds to the beauty and harmony of a flower box, every voice in society adds to the strength of our community. Thus, the raised flower bed has become a living classroom of peace and inclusion, echoing the spirit of SDG 16.
