Mansour Al Mansour

Saudi Arabia - Prince Saud bin Jalawi School

Mansour Al Mansour’s journey in education exemplifies resilience, innovation, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. From humble beginnings teaching students in impoverished neighbourhoods to establishing a transformative educational philosophy, Mansour has dedicated his life to shaping a brighter future for students in Saudi Arabia and beyond. His remarkable impact on the profession, his community, and the broader educational landscape positions him as a deserving candidate for the prestigious Global Teacher Prize.

Al Mansour began his teaching career in a small, rented building, facing a myriad of obstacles, including students from underprivileged backgrounds, some with learning disabilities, and parents who could not read or write. Undeterred, he transformed these challenges into opportunities, establishing a vision and strategic plan to create an inclusive and innovative learning environment. Even with limited resources—teaching from a school kitchen—he turned his students into high achievers and creative thinkers, culminating in a national exhibition of scientific innovations. His efforts led to his school being recognized as one of the top 10 learning environments in Saudi Arabia for gifted education.

Mansour’s teaching methodology is rooted in life skills, happiness, and sustainability. He tailors his approach to each student’s needs, engaging families, and integrating modern teaching models with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. By involving students in project-based learning, he connects their education to real-world challenges, such as climate change and financial literacy. His pioneering use of technology, including artificial intelligence and virtual reality, has made learning more engaging and effective. For instance, he established an educational platform supported by the Mohammed Bin Zayed Award, where students explore topics in immersive and interactive ways.

Mansour’s influence extends far beyond the classroom. He has founded charitable associations, launched volunteer initiatives, and spearheaded programs to support orphans, prisoners, and families in need. His efforts have rehabilitated prisoners, empowered families to rise above poverty, and inspired over 5,000 volunteer hours among his students. Campaigns like “Your Summer is Cold,” which provides air conditioner maintenance for the poor, and his innovative programs addressing domestic violence, demonstrate his commitment to community wellbeing.

Mansour equips his students with the tools to navigate and contribute to a globalized world. Through workshops, international exchanges and virtual collaborations, he instils values of tolerance, equality, and environmental stewardship. His initiatives, such as the Smart Afforestation application aimed at planting one million trees, embody his dedication to climate education and sustainable practices. His students have earned accolades on global stages, including awards at Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in the United States and recognition for innovations addressing water pollution and desertification.

As an author of over 20 educational books and a frequent presenter at international conferences, Mansour has profoundly influenced the teaching profession, training hundreds of educators, publishing best practices, and serving as an ambassador for educational excellence across the Gulf region. His initiatives to promote lifelong learning, elevate the status of teachers, and advocate for innovative practices underscore his commitment to the profession’s advancement.

Mansour Al Mansour’s unwavering dedication, transformative vision, and extraordinary impact make him a true educational pioneer, deserving of recognition as one of the world’s most inspiring teachers.
