Divaa Uthkarsha describes herself as a lifelong dreamer fueled by curiosity. Influenced by her parents, who are both doctors, she draws inspiration from her family and mentors. She strives to inspire others and leave a mark on the world, seeing her story as a blend of those around her.
Academically, she has maintained a 4.0 GPA and ranked first in multiple grades. Her achievements include top ranks in national and international Olympiads, the Principal's honour list, and contributions to school publications. Currently, she is working on four research papers and has interned at a top endocrinology institute.
Her impact on peers includes founding a non-profit for underprivileged type 1 diabetic adolescents, inspiring 65 volunteers, and impacting over 350,000 students. She has helped peers start non-profits, tutored struggling classmates, and raised significant funds for diabetic children. Her efforts extend to creating a supportive and respectful environment for her peers, always aiming to bring smiles and happiness.
She founded Project Surya, a non-profit named after her brother, to support type 1 diabetic children from low-income families. This project educates and equips health workers, conducts awareness workshops, and raises funds for essential medical supplies. Her advocacy has led to policy changes and widespread awareness, reaching millions through social media and events.
Overcoming societal scepticism and traditional resistance, due to her age and gender, she faced numerous rejections but has remained resolute and undeterred, driven by gratitude and the strength of her supportive family. She sees challenges as character-building tests, fuelling her resolve to create a world where every child can dream and excel.
Divaa’s creative pursuits are rooted in a family tradition of art. She has trained in classical dance and music, directed school theatre, and performed at cultural institutions. Her involvement in the arts has inspired others and deepened her appreciation of her cultural heritage. She runs a major youth-led non-profit and engages with a wide community on LinkedIn, fostering connections and learning from diverse perspectives.
As a global citizen, Divaa participates in youth forums and international conferences, presenting her work at the UN and serving as a research fellow and youth advisor. She networks with global peers and foreign ambassadors, contributing to multilateral discussions on education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
