Social Studies, English and Mathematics teacher Meghana Musunuri from Hyderabad, India, is an education futurist, philanthropist and a passionate and prolific entrepreneur. She is Founder & Chairperson of Fountainhead Global School & Junior College; Founder of conservation NGO Save Water And Nature (SWAN); CEO of My Edu Guru; and the Hyderabad Champion for Google's Women Entrepreneurs On The Web (WEOW) - the first person to be part of and complete all the five circles of the WEOW programme and guides women entrepreneurs in establishing their online presence.
She has been honoured with many accolades including Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Teacher’s Excellence Award 2020 for her outstanding services in the field of education, especially for promoting youth encouragement; was conferred with “Rex Karmaveer Chakra Award (Silver) “Global Fellowship 2019 - a global honour from the United Nations, International Confederation Of NGO’s and Rex in association with CtrlS.
She came up with the concept of My Edu Guru, which incorporates her experience as well as knowledge gleaned across multifarious verticals, an initiative awarded ‘Company of the year - Education’ in the Dare to Dream awards 2018 by Zee Business in association with SAP. She was also acclaimed "Devi 2016", a women's award for dynamism and innovation by the New Indian Express for pushing boundaries in education. She has twice been awarded with the prestigious "Acharaya Devo Bhava" (2014 & 2015) and with her WEOW award remains true to her passion combining education, philanthropy and empowered entrepreneurship.
Meghana believes in “Transforming education for human flourishing” and is the Founder Chairperson of Bodhivriksha Educational society. Her leadership of Fountainhead Global School has been recognised with many accolades from the best in the Industry. A veteran in training programs on employability skills for students along with overseas education, Meghana has organised academic conferences at places such as JNTU, KLU, Gitam and been part of academic discussions at IIIT, Hyd as well as various schools and communities. Her work with non-profit SWAN features workshops where she shares her knowledge on the importance of environmental sustainability and is typical of her hands-on approach to all her projects. She took up the social cause in 2019, involving students and local communities, to identify the problem and coming up with sustainable solutions to save Meedikunta Lake.
With a vision to provide a holistic development for students, enabling them to face any challenge in life, academically, professionally and personally, she set out on a mission to groom the young and dynamic leaders for future India. Her teaching philosophy is based around student centric approaches such as Blended Learning, Problem Based Learning, Depth Of Knowledge – level 4, Socio Emotional learning and Growth Mindset. Her focus on innovation in the classroom and teaching advanced social skills to her students has seen them win many student Olympiads, science competitions, spelling bees, entrepreneur contests and financial awards. Pioneering the use of Google Hangouts a decade ago, she has also introduced Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) to help both teachers and students learn beyond the classroom and school.
