2024 Global Student Prize Winner
Ángela Elena Olazarán Laureano
Ángela Elena Olazarán Laureano, a 17-year-old Mexican student who developed an AI-powered virtual medical assistant and advocates for girls to pursue STEM careers, has been named the winner of the Chegg.org Global Student Prize 2024. The US$100,000 sister award to the Global Teacher Prize is given to one exceptional student who has made a real impact on learning, the lives of their peers, and on society beyond. She was selected from over 11,000 nominations and applications from 176 countries around the world.
Ángela accepted the award in New York during UN General Assembly week.

2023 Global Teacher Prize Winner
Sister Zeph
Pakistani teacher Sister Zeph, who founded her own school for underprivileged children in the courtyard of her home at just 13, has been named the winner of the Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize 2023, organised in collaboration with UNESCO and in strategic partnership with Dubai Cares, a UAE-based global philanthropic organisation.

Nhial Deng
South Sudanese refugee Nhial Deng, empowered over 20,000 refugees in the Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya through peacebuilding, education, and entrepreneurship programmes, as well as creating a safe space for young people to heal from their trauma. Nhial has been named the winner of the Chegg.org Global Student Prize 2023.
